Dog Friendly Flamborough Head and Danes Dyke
Yorkshire is not known as “God's Own Country” for nothing, as well as its renowned Yorkshire hospitality (which of course is extended to dogs!) it is full of diverse scenery and Flamborough is a real contender for one of the most stunning examples. The area is a paradise for pooches; the small beaches are dog-friendly all year round, and there are numerous dog-friendly eateries, too. Unsurprisingly, then, it’s one of our best-loved areas to go walking with the dogs. So earlier this week, we decided to make the most of the drier, spring-like weather and take the girls on a coastal adventure to explore dog-friendly Flamborough and have some fun

Danes Dyke Nature Reserve
Danes Dyke Nature Reserve is one of our all-time favourite spots—a day out that perfectly marries the allure of the woods with the charm of the beach. It's a place where every dog finds joy, just as our Lottie adored the woodland scents and Dottie was thrilled on her first visit (albeit in a bit of a tearful parking ticket moment)!
Embark on the 3km circular tree trail that showcases the reserve's diverse landscape. The route meanders around a rugged ravine and descends to reveal a stunning white-pebbled beach, with several steep flights of steps (some boasting as many as 100 steps) that add a fun challenge for both you and your four-legged friend. While there are shorter walks available, taking the full trail ensures you truly experience all the reserve has to offer.
Whether shrouded in fog or basking in clear skies, Danes Dyke Nature Reserve delivers an incredibly beautiful and peaceful escape, making it a must-visit destination for nature lovers and their canine companions alike.

Sewerby Hall & Gardens
Sewerby Hall & Gardens – A Dog-Friendly Escape
Sewerby Hall & Gardens is an enchanting coastal estate in Bridlington that offers a perfect day out for both people and their canine companions. Set amid over 50 acres of historic parkland, the estate features a beautifully preserved hall, lush gardens, a small zoo, and a fascinating museum. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on leads throughout most of the grounds, with the understanding that they are not permitted inside the hall, the zoo, or the restaurant areas
The expansive grounds are ideal for leisurely strolls where you and your dog can soak in breathtaking sea views, wander through landscaped gardens, and explore peaceful woodland trails. Many visitors appreciate the tranquil ambiance for a relaxing walk and even note that there’s a dedicated dog-friendly area in the café—making it a delightful outing for the entire family. Just remember to keep your pup on a lead and respect the designated no-go areas

Flamborough Head Short Circular Walk
Based near the seaside town of Bridlington, the Flamborough Head short circular walk is ideal for intermediate walkers who don’t mind a few steep inclines. The views are more than worth it, though – particularly with the sights over the bays and the thriving wildlife.
There’s no danger of getting lost on this 7-mile route, as you’ll make your way right back to where you started. But be warned – there may be some treacherous slopes along the way!

North Landing Beach
mbark on a scenic coastal adventure with your furry companion at North Landing Beach—a hidden gem nestled within the dramatic chalk cliffs of Flamborough. This dog-friendly haven offers an invigorating route that combines a rugged clifftop walk with the delightful charm of a sheltered cove beach.
As you explore the coastal path from Flamborough Head, you'll be treated to spectacular views over the North Sea, intriguing natural rock formations, and even a glimpse of a decommissioned lifeboat station and slipway that add a touch of local history to your journey. The route includes a mix of open, flat stretches and a few steep flights of steps, making it an engaging walk for both you and your dog.
At North Landing, the beach offers a unique blend of sand, pebbles, and rocks—ideal for a refreshing splash or a playful romp. Facilities such as a café for a quick refreshment and water stations help keep both you and your pup comfortable during your adventure. Whether you choose to let your dog off the lead in safe, open areas or enjoy a leisurely stroll along the scenic coastal trail, you're in for a day filled with natural beauty and memorable moments.
Remember to bring plenty of water for you both, and take your time to soak in the views and breathe in the crisp sea air. North Landing Beach promises to be a rewarding destination for dog walkers looking to blend exercise, exploration, and the timeless allure of the Yorkshire coast.
